Subway Expansion Project in New York Led by FCC
FCC has been selected as a technical monitoring partner in the Second Avenue Subway Phase 2 project in New York City, a $1.97 billion initiative awarded to FCC Construction and Halmar International by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).



FCC has been selected as a technical monitoring partner in the Second Avenue Subway Phase 2 project in New York City, a $1.97 billion initiative awarded to FCC Construction and Halmar International by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).
The project includes:
1.8 miles of twin-track tunneling
Construction of three new stations
Critical upgrades and connections to existing lines

Set to begin major excavation by 2027, with completion expected in 2032, this expansion will connect underserved areas of East Harlem to Manhattan’s core transit network. AFEcom is responsible for deploying geotechnical monitoring systems throughout the project, ensuring excavation safety, minimizing impact on surrounding structures, and providing constant updates through our cloud-based platform.
This collaboration demonstrates AFEcom’s technical excellence and reliability in North America's most demanding urban infrastructure projects.
